South African bishops: We don’t discourage condoms

From Catholic Culture:

Reacting to Pope Benedict’s March 17 comments on AIDS and condoms, Father Chris Townsend, information officer of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference (SACBC), told the Johannesburg-based Mail & Guardian that "in South Africa it's our approach that we will teach people about condoms. We don't encourage them but we don't discourage them."
