Hillary Clinton Warns North Korea on Nuclear Programs

This is only note worthy because you have the Secretary of the United States jetting abroad with 'climate change' as one of the main issues. Guess the safety of the U.S. doesn't rate as important as 'climate change'

Tokyo (AP) - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, in Tokyo to begin her first trip abroad as President Barack Obama's chief diplomat, said Washington's alliance with Japan is a cornerstone for the U.S. and warned North Korea to live up to its commitments to dismantle its nuclear programs.

She arrived Monday in Tokyo to a large group of dignitaries, including two Japanese astronauts who flew on the U.S. space shuttle.

Twelve year-old becomes YouTube hit by explaining the tragedy of abortion

CNA STAFF, Feb 16, 2009 / 04:20 pm (CNA).- An un-named 12 year-old girl  has become a hit on YouTube because of the simplicity and eloquence with which she explains the tragedy of abortion.
“Every day, 115,000 are dying through abortion… a hundred and fifteen thousand! That means that  5,000 children will die every hour. That means all those lives,  gone! All that potential,  gone!  And all that hope in the future gone!” says the young girl, reading from a script and very naturally addressing the camera.
In her presentation, the young girl summarizes the pro-life counter arguments to most of the pro-abortion objections, including the usually ignored fact of Post Abortion Syndrome.
"My daughter prepared and delivered this speech for her grade 7 class. Even those who didn't agree with her loved it,” writes the anonymous poster of the video.
But after 403 comments, she had to turn off the comment function for the video.
“This was not to stop genuine discussion or debate on the issue but was, rather, a response to the cowardly who used it as an opportunity to throw insults and threats at a young girl that they hated without reason."

President Obama and the Politics of Fear

In an unprecedented campaign to sell his trillion-dollar taxpayer spending plan, President Obama has gone beyond talking down the economy. During his first nationally televised news conference, President Obama warned of a pending economic "catastrophe" if Congress doesn't immediately pass and implement his $800 billion-plus economic "stimulus" plan.

Obama's use of fear and coercion to implement his plan of loading the country with insurmountable debt is shockingly reckless and blatantly inappropriate, to say the least.

With the exception of the housing and mortgage industries (which were corrupted by government intervention for social "reinvestment") the aggregate economy was not at crisis level in 2008. Not only was John McCain correct in saying that the fundamentals of the total economy were sound during the campaign; he was also being responsible with his words and with his expression of faith.

Pro-Abortion Republican Groups Announce New Partnership to Weaken GOP

Excuse me if I don't wish them success.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Two pro-abortion Republican groups have announced a newly-formed partnership designed to weaken the long-standing pro-life platform the GOP maintains. The Republican Majority for Choice and the WISH List (Women in the Senate and House) hope to team up to drag the party to the left.

Colleen Parro, the head of the Republican National Coalition for Life tells LifeNews.com about the new effort.
"Feeling scorned after eighteen years of trying and failing to remove the pro-life language from the Republican national platform, and with the last three Republican presidential administrations [taking a pro-life stance], pro-choice Republican women are trying to make a come-back," Parro said.

The two pro-abortion groups say they plan to “continue the battle for personal freedoms and choice in the GOP.”

Obama lied, democracy died

The lies are piling up after only 30 days.

The campaign promises are being broken so fast, it is making the American people's heads spin.

No one is capable of compiling them all.

And most of my colleagues in the media have no desire to do so.

But let's just take one big one that is likely to be broken tomorrow.

Late Friday, the Senate passed the $790 billion so-called "stimulus package," which discerning American citizens realize is nothing but the same old-fashioned, pork-laden, redistribution-of-wealth, spending bills for which the Democratic Party is infamous.

Root Of Nation's Crisis Is Moral

By Star Parker
February 16, 2009

A travesty of justice has occurred in Oakland, California. But realities surrounding this local issue point to how the economic crisis in our nation is symptomatic of and flows from a deeper fundamental moral crisis.

A black pastor awaits sentencing, which could amount to two years in prison and $4,000 in fines, for standing outside an inner city abortion clinic holding a sign saying "Jesus Loves You & Your Baby, Let Us Help You," and offering pro-life literature.

Walter Hoye, founder and chairman of the Issues4Life Foundation, was found guilty of "unlawful approach" under the "Access to Reproductive Health Care Facilities Ordinance" enacted in Oakland in 2008. (Full story at GOPUSA)

Brisbane's rebel priest collapses as replacement arrives

from Catholic Culture

More on the sad story about St. Mary's

February 16, 2009

A rebellious priest in Brisbane, Australia, who is fighting the decision by Archbishop John Bathersby to remove him from parish ministry, was taken ill this weekend, just as his replacement arrived. Father Peter Kennedy, who had been relieved of duty as pastor of St. Mary's parish, collapsed on Sunday night, apparently of exhaustion. He was sent home after being examined at a nearby hospital. Father Ken Howell, the new pastor at St. Mary's, had said that he hopes for a "smooth transition," and that this top priority will be to encourage "a process of healing" after the sharp confrontation between the parish community and the Brisbane archdiocese. Father Kennedy, who plans a legal appeal of the archbishop's orders, said that his ouster "came as a surprise," even though the parish had announced its intention to defy the archbishop's orders for changes in unorthodox liturgical practices and doctrinal teachings.

Obama Disses Brits, Will Media Miss?

rom NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias by

Barack Obama loves Lincoln. It seems not a day goes by that he isn't quoting the Civil War icon or comparing himself to that great man. But it looks like we are finding one great leader that Barack Obama doesn't like so much: Winston Churchill.

It appears that President Obama is dissing the Brit's most famous and stalwart leader by quickly returning the most famous bust of the man loaned to this country by the United Kingdom in the aftermath of 9//11. The return of the bust of Churchill flustered the British government because they didn't ask for it to be returned. Our best ally was nonplussed and even quickly told Obama he could keep it in the Oval Office where Bush had displayed the piece of art. Obama told them no thanks which made the Brits even more amazed.

So, Barack Obama, the man that would "fix" our "bad image" with the rest of the world, we were told by the media, has just dissed Churchill after only a month in office? And, according to one of the only stories I can find on this incident, the British government has been made nervous about the relationship between England and the U.S. because of the casual return of their generously loaned Churchill bust.

I mean, this abrupt return of the Churchill statue is sort of odd. Would it have hurt anything to keep the thing? After all, it made the Brits feel good and American's have a connection to Churchill, too (besides WWII). His mother was from our shores after all.
Whatever the case may be, the bust now sits in the home of the British ambassador in Washington D.C.

Now I wonder if anyone in the U.S. media will bother to report on an incident that that has caused diplomatic consternation, an incident perpetrated by the Obammessiah himself.

Again... wasn't Obama the one that was going to make every ally ecstatically happy?

US to help plan UN racism conference

It will be interesting to see if Obama administration does the right thing and eventually stands with our ally Israel. Sadly, I think we know what the outcome is going to be.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration said late Saturday it would participate in planning for a U.N. conference on racism despite concerns the meeting will be used by Arab nations and others to criticize Israel.

The U.S. will decide later whether to participate in the conference.

The State Department said it would send diplomats next week to participate in preparatory meetings for the World Conference Against Racism, which is set to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in April and which some countries including Israel have already decided to boycott.
During the Bush administration the United States and Israel walked out the first U.N. conference on racism in Durban, South Africa in 2001 over efforts to pass a resolution comparing Zionism -- the movement to establish and maintain a Jewish state -- to racism.

What the Pope Should Know about Nancy Pelosi

from Inside Catholic
by Deal W. Hudson

This week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will meet with Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican. With the debilitating illness of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Pelosi has become the de facto leader of dissident Catholic members of Congress.

It's only appropriate that Pelosi should take Kennedy's place. When she became Speaker in January 2006, she chose Rev. Robert Drinan, S.J., as the celebrant of the Mass held in her honor. The late Father Drinan, a longtime professor of law at Georgetown University, had been the architect of the arguments now used as cover by Catholic politicians who wish to dodge the abortion issue. This effort began in 1964, when Father Drinan was among a small group of theologians who visited Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, to school the Kennedy clan on how to finesse the abortion issue in politics.  (Full story at InsideCatholikc.com)
