Obama administration could ration access to medical treatment

For those who think it will be GREAT if  US health care is nationalized. It's scary to think we elected people who want to, in effect, put a price for our life. 

The Obama administration is advancing a proposal that would control access to medicines and medical treatments on the basis of their "cost effectiveness." The proposal-- modeled after the British experience with the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (with the Orwellian acronym NICE)-- would encourage federal officials to place a monetary value on a year added to a patient's life. That approach could result in a judgment that certain patient's diseases should not be treated. Full story at WSJ Online
